Leona Lenger (*2001) ist eine Blockflötistin aus Graz in Österreich. Nach ihrem Bachelorstudium, welches sie mit Auszeichnung abschloss, belegt sie nun das Masterstudium Historische Blasinstrumente/Blockflöte an der Kunstuniversität Graz (Klasse: Christine Gnigler/Lea Sobbe). Zusätzlich studiert sie Instrumentalpädagogik (Schwerpunkte: Elementare Musikpädagogik und Improvisation) und ist als Instrumentallehrerin tätig. 2020 begann sie im Rahmen ihres Studiums außerdem Barockoboe bei Georg Fritz zu lernen. Im Wintersemester 2022/23 studierte sie im Rahmen des Erasmus-Programms an der HfM Trossingen (Klasse: Susanna Borsch). Sie ist regelmäßig in Konzerten mit Blockflöte und Barockoboe zu hören und ist in verschiedenen Ensembles tätig. Intensiv arbeitet sie mit dem Blockflötenensemble Trio Tenso, welches sich als Ziel gesetzt hat, die Vielfalt der Blockflöte zu zeigen. Mit dem Ensemble Rayons du Soleil, welches einen Schwerpunkt auf Musik des Hochbarocks setzt, ist sie 2023 im Rahmen des Fringe beim Oude Muziek Festival Utrecht aufgetreten.
Einen weiteren Fokus legt Leona auf die Musik der Renaissance: Sie arbeitet gerne und intensiv im Blockflötenconsort und beschäftigt sich auch mit den Oboeninstrumenten Schalmei und Pommer, sowie seit kurzer Zeit mit der Renaissance-Traversflöte.
Leona beschäftigt sich neben Alter Musik auch mit Neuer Musik und zeitgenössischer Improvisation und kreiert gerne Projekte in verschiedenen Bereichen. Dazu zählt unter anderem Der forschende Musicus#, eine musikwissenschaftliche Zeitschrift, deren erste Ausgabe im Sommer 2024 erschienen ist.

Leona Lenger (*2001) is a recorder player from Graz, Austria. After finishing her Bachelor studies with honors, she is studying for a Master’s degree in Historical Wind Instruments/Recorder at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (class: Christine Gnigler/Lea Sobbe). Additionally, she studies music education (main focuses on elementary music pedagogy and improvisation) and works as an instrumental teacher. In 2020, she also began learning how to play the baroque oboe with Georg Fritz as part of her studies. In the winter semester of 2022/23 she studied at the HfM Trossingen (class: Susanna Borsch) as part of the Erasmus program. She regularly plays on the recorder and the baroque oboe in concerts and is active in various ensembles. She works intensely with the recorder ensemble Trio Tenso, which aims to show the diversity of the recorder repertoire in different time periods. With the ensemble Rayons du Soleil, which focuses on music of the late Baroque period, she performed at the Oude Muziek Festival Utrecht in 2023 as part of the Fringe concerts. Leona enjoys working on Renaissance music in different recorder consorts. Moreover, she plays the shawm and the alto shawm and has shortly started occupying herself with the renaissance transverse flute.
In addition to Early Music, Leona also enjoys Contemporary Music and improvisation and works on projects in various fields. This includes Der forschende Musicus#, a musicological magazine for historical performance practice. Its first edition was published in summer 2024.
